Oxo Precision Scale and Timer

The OXO Precision Scale and Timer is purpose-built for manual pour-over brewing. It measures weight simultaneously with time, with 0.1g accuracy. Install the included batteries and press the power button.

The silicone sleeve sits on the scale platform and serves two purposes: it insulates the scale from heat (important when using glass V60 or Chemex carafes filled with hot coffee) and provides grip to prevent vessels from sliding. Place the silicone sleeve on the platform before placing your brewer or vessel.

Pour-Over Workflow

Place your dripper and vessel on the scale, tare to zero. Add ground coffee, tare again. Press the timer button at the start of your bloom pour — the scale shows both elapsed time and weight simultaneously. Monitor your pour in real time. Total brew time and cumulative water weight are visible at once without switching modes.

Timer

The timer counts up to 9:59 (9 minutes 59 seconds) — sufficient for any pour-over method. Press the timer button to start; press again to stop. A long press resets to 0:00. The timer and scale operate simultaneously — taring does not reset the timer.

Accuracy

0.1g resolution is more than sufficient for pour-over brewing. Place the scale on a flat, stable surface for accurate readings — uneven surfaces introduce error. Avoid placing the scale near vibration sources (blenders, grinders) while measuring.

After Each Use

Wipe the scale platform with a damp cloth. Remove the silicone sleeve and wash by hand with warm soapy water. Do not submerge the scale in water.

Inconsistent Readings

Replace batteries — low batteries cause drift. Ensure scale is on a flat, level surface. Remove the silicone sleeve and check for debris under the platform.
