Oxo Brew 8-Cup Coffee Maker

Oxo Brew 8-Cup Coffee Maker

Switch between batch brew and single cups at the flip of a switch with the Oxo Brew 8 Cup Coffee Maker! A successor to the well-loved 9 cup brewer, the Oxo 8 cup is built to brew at the right time and temperature for SCA's Gold Cup certification. Features like a wide spray arm, 40-ounce capacity, and auto drip stop make the 8 Cup easy to live with for those early mornings. Maintenance is equally easy with a wide mouth carafe and a dedicated cleaning program. Best of all, the brewer's unique single cup setting lets you brew single cups or travel mugs using regular Kalita Wave filters.

What's In The Box
OXO Brew 8-Cup Coffee Maker, Glass carafe with lid, Single-cup brew basket insert, Power cord. Note: Standard flat-bottom basket filters for full carafe, Kalita Wave 155 filters for single-cup mode — not included. Available at seattlecoffeegear.com.

Setup & First Use

Place on a level surface and plug in. Fill the water reservoir with up to 40oz for a full 8-cup brew. Insert a flat-bottom basket filter for full-carafe brewing, or the included single-cup insert with a Kalita Wave 155 filter for smaller batches. Select the appropriate mode and press brew.

The OXO 8-Cup is SCA Gold Cup certified — it brews between 198–204°F in under 7 minutes. The wide spray head evenly saturates all the grounds in the basket. Auto drip-stop pauses flow when you remove the carafe to pour a cup.

Dedicated cleaning mode: press and hold the brew button while plugging in to activate the cleaning cycle. This runs a self-cleaning program to flush the water lines and boiler.

Tutorials & Training

Single-Cup Mode

Insert the single-cup basket and a Kalita Wave 155 filter. Brew directly into a mug. This mode adjusts the brew for a smaller volume, maintaining Gold Cup temperature and extraction for single-serving use — unlike many machines that simply under-fill a large basket.

Auto Drip-Stop

Remove the carafe at any time and flow pauses automatically. The carafe can be removed and replaced at will — there is no timed window as in the 9-Cup Barista Brain. Flow resumes as soon as the carafe is replaced.

Cleaning Mode

Run the dedicated cleaning program monthly: hold the brew button while connecting power to start. Alternatively, run a citric acid or white vinegar solution through the machine as you would a standard brew cycle, followed by 2–3 rinse cycles.

Cleaning & Maintenance

After Each Use

Discard filter and grounds. Rinse basket. Wash glass carafe and lid by hand or dishwasher.

Monthly

Run the built-in cleaning mode or a manual descale cycle using citric acid solution followed by rinse cycles.

Troubleshooting

Slow Brewing / No Flow

Run the cleaning mode. The built-in descale cycle addresses boiler and water line buildup.

Single-Cup Insert Not Seating Properly

Ensure the insert is oriented correctly in the basket housing. Check that the basket lid is fully closed before brewing.
