OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker

OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Feed the caffeine-loving mad scientist within, with the OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker. Resembling something you might find in a chemistry set, this slightly transparent tower has one mission and one mission only...to brew you a delicious carafe of cold brew concentrate. To begin the process, simply add 10 oz (or 3.5 cups) of your favorite ground coffee. Pour 40 oz of water over the Rainmaker top for full water dispersion. Gently stir and let your concoction "steep" 12 - 24 hours, or overnight. In the morning, simply place the glass carafe under the cold brew tower, flip the Brew-Release Switch and, depending on the size of your grind, allow approximately 20 minutes for your fresh concentrate to fully drain. Use the carafe stopper to easily measure out 2 oz of freshly brewed concentrate and mix hot or cold water or milk to create your favorite drink.

What's In The Box
OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker brewing tower, Borosilicate glass carafe with cork stopper. Note: This is a non-electric cold brew system — no power required.

Setup & First Use

The OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker is a non-electric, gravity-fed cold brew system. No assembly or power required. Place on a level countertop or in the refrigerator during steeping.

Before first use, rinse the brew tower, outlet filter, and glass carafe with clean water. Inspect the ultra-fine stainless steel mesh outlet filter at the bottom of the brew tower — it catches grounds before they enter the carafe.

To brew: add 10oz (approximately 3.5 cups) of coarsely ground coffee to the brew tower. Place the Rainmaker lid on top. Slowly pour 40oz of cold or room-temperature water over the Rainmaker lid — the perforated design distributes water evenly across the grounds. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are wet.

Cover and steep 12–24 hours at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Refrigerated steeping produces a slightly cleaner, less acidic concentrate; room-temperature steeping is slightly faster.

Tutorials & Training

Draining the Concentrate

After steeping, place the glass carafe under the brew tower outlet and flip the Brew-Release Switch on the side of the tower. Concentrate drains through the stainless steel mesh filter into the carafe. Depending on grind coarseness, full drainage takes approximately 20–45 minutes. Do not squeeze or press the grounds.

Using the Concentrate

The OXO concentrate is brewed at a strong ratio (approximately 1:4, coffee to water). Dilute at serving time: 1 part concentrate to 1–3 parts water or milk, depending on preferred strength. For hot coffee, add 1–2 parts hot water. For iced coffee, pour over ice. Concentrate keeps refrigerated up to 2 weeks.

The Cork Stopper

The glass carafe's cork stopper has a perforated silicone insert used as a measuring device for dispensing concentrate in consistent 2oz pours. Once the carafe is filled, fit the cork stopper for storage. The perforated insert drains 2oz at a time when the carafe is inverted over a glass.

Cleaning & Maintenance

After Each Batch

Discard spent grounds from the brew tower. Rinse the tower, Rainmaker lid, and outlet filter under warm water. The mesh filter can be removed by unscrewing the filter cap — rinse thoroughly. All components are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Wash the glass carafe by hand or in the dishwasher.

Troubleshooting

Concentrate Draining Very Slowly

Grind too fine. Use a coarser grind for the next batch — the coarseness of raw sugar is a good target. Fine grounds clog the mesh filter and slow or stop drainage.

Concentrate Tastes Weak

Steep longer (up to 24 hours) or increase coffee dose. Ensure grounds are fully saturated — stir gently after adding water.
