Oxo Brew Coffee Grinder - Black

Place the OXO Brew Electric Grinder on a level surface. The locking bean hopper holds up to 12oz (340g) of whole beans. The hopper has a locking shutoff valve — turn the valve to close (blocking bean flow) before removing the hopper. This prevents beans from falling into the burrs when the hopper is off.

Turn the outer grind adjustment ring to select your grind setting across 42 steps — from fine (espresso) to coarse (French press). Settings 1–7 are fine to medium-fine (AeroPress, pour-over fine), 8–16 are medium to medium-coarse (drip, Chemex, Kalita), 17–25 are coarse (French press, cold brew). Grind directly into the included stainless steel dosing cup.

The timer dial on the front controls dose by grinding time in 30-second increments. The timed dial approach — rather than cup-count — is more intuitive for dialing in exact doses by weight. Calibrate your time setting against a scale to find the correct grind time for your target dose.

42-Step Grind Range

The steel conical burrs cover espresso through French press. Starting points: pour-over (V60, Chemex) — settings 10–15; drip machine — 12–18; Kalita Wave — 12–16; French press — 20–28; cold brew — 25–35. Adjust one step at a time and taste for impact.

Timed Dosing

Turn the timer dial to a 30-second increment, add beans to the hopper, and press the start button. The grinder runs for the set time and stops automatically. Weigh your first grind and record the time needed for your target dose. Once calibrated, you can set the same time each session for consistent dosing.

Locking Hopper

Close the hopper shutoff valve before removing — this prevents partial beans from falling between the burrs. When reinstalling, open the valve before grinding.

Weekly

Brush loose grounds from the dosing cup chute area. The stainless steel dosing cup wipes clean easily. The hopper can be removed for hand-washing (when empty and valve closed).

Monthly — Burr Cleaning

Run grinder cleaning tablets (Grindz) through at a medium setting. Follow with beans to purge. Or remove the upper burr (refer to instruction manual) and brush both burr surfaces. Do not use water on the burrs.

Inconsistent Grind Size

The burrs may need cleaning — coffee oil buildup changes burr geometry. Run cleaning tablets or clean burrs manually. Ensure the upper burr is fully seated after cleaning.

Grinder Not Starting

Ensure the hopper is properly seated and locked. The safety interlock prevents grinding with the hopper removed.
