Setup & First Use

The OXO Brew Hand Grinder uses steel conical burrs with 40 stepped grind settings. Before first use, season the burrs by grinding 20–30g of beans at a medium setting and discarding. Adjust grind size using the collar near the top of the grinding mechanism — stepped clicks for repeatability.

Capacity: approximately 40g of whole beans. The compact, slim profile is designed for portability and everyday countertop use. Grind directly into the catch cup by cranking the handle.

40 Settings

Setting 1 is finest; 40 is coarsest. Starting points: AeroPress ~12; pour-over (V60) ~18–22; Chemex ~20–25; Kalita Wave ~18–22; French press ~30–36; cold brew ~35–40. Adjust based on brew time and taste.

Grinding Technique

Hold the body firmly and crank at a steady pace. 20g at pour-over settings takes approximately 45–60 seconds. The slim form factor makes it easy to grip. The catch cup screws securely for transport.

Cleaning & Maintenance

After Each Use

Wipe the catch cup with a dry cloth or rinse under warm water. Periodically brush the grinding chamber with a dry brush to remove oil buildup.

Troubleshooting

Hard to Crank

Setting too fine. Loosen 2–3 clicks. Ensure no old grounds are trapped in the burrs — brush clean.
