OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle

Before first use, rinse the borosilicate glass kettle with warm water. Place on the power base and plug in. The kettle holds up to 1.75L (59oz) — one of the largest variable-temp electric kettles available.

Set your desired temperature using the +/– buttons. Temperature range: 170–212°F (77–100°C) in 5-degree increments. Common settings: pour-over coffee 195–205°F; green tea 160–175°F; black tea/herbal 200–212°F. The kettle remembers your last temperature setting and defaults to it on next use.

The slow-open lid tilts gradually rather than opening all the way at once — this drains condensation from the lid back into the kettle rather than onto your counter. The kettle lifts off the base for cordless pouring.

30-Minute Hold Mode

Once the kettle reaches your set temperature, it automatically holds that temperature for 30 minutes. The display shows the current temperature throughout hold mode. After 30 minutes, the kettle turns off. Reheat as needed for longer sessions.

Temperature Memory

The kettle remembers the last set temperature between uses. If you always brew at 200°F, the kettle defaults to 200°F each time — no need to re-enter your preference.

Large Capacity

The 1.75L capacity is ideal for large Chemex or multiple V60 brew sessions without refilling mid-session. Fill only as much as you need — the large capacity is a maximum, not a requirement.

After Each Use

Empty any remaining water. The borosilicate glass body shows water level and mineral deposits clearly — wipe the interior periodically with a damp cloth. Never submerge the base in water.

Descaling

When mineral deposits appear inside the glass body, fill with equal parts white vinegar and water, let soak 30 minutes, then discard and rinse thoroughly with 2–3 fills of clean water before brewing.

Not Reaching Set Temperature

Allow adequate heating time — 1.75L of water takes 4–6 minutes to reach 200°F. If the kettle shuts off before reaching temperature, descale the base and heating element.

Temperature Inaccurate

Descale the heating element — scale buildup between the element and the glass reduces heat transfer accuracy.
