Refurbished - Saeco Xelsis SM7684 Superautomatic Espresso Machine - Titanium

Place on a level surface. Fill the water tank (front-loading). Fill the bean hopper. The Xelsis SM7684 features a large chrome-trimmed touchscreen as its primary interface. Follow on-screen first-use setup for language and water hardness. Install the included AquaClean filter in the water tank.

Connect the HygieSteam milk carafe: fill with cold milk and click into the milk connector on the left side of the machine. The HygieSteam system uses steam to automatically steam-clean the milk circuit after each use, removing 99.99% of milk residues without manual intervention.

The SM7684 offers 15 specialty drinks. Programming is via the Coffee Equalizer — interactive sliders on the touchscreen for strength, volume, temperature, milk foam amount, and more. Save customized recipes to the machine's multiple user profiles.

Touchscreen and Coffee Equalizer

Swipe through drink categories on the touchscreen. Select a drink and hold to access the Coffee Equalizer — drag the sliders for strength (1–5), volume, temperature (3 levels), and milk texture. The Equalizer gives more granular control than most superautomatics. Save your settings to a user profile for one-touch access next time.

15 Specialty Drinks

Available recipes include espresso, ristretto, doppio, coffee, lungo, cappuccino, latte macchiato, flat white, macchiato, hot milk, americano, and more. Each is individually customizable via the Coffee Equalizer.

HygieSteam Milk System

After each milk drink, the Xelsis automatically triggers a HygieSteam steam burst through the milk circuit for instant cleaning. This keeps the milk pathway hygienic without requiring the user to run a separate rinse. At end of day, press the milk system clean button for a thorough steam clean cycle.

AquaClean Filter

The SM7684 includes one AquaClean filter — install in the water tank during first setup. With the filter, you can brew up to 5,000 cups without descaling. Replace when the machine prompts.

Daily — Coffee Circuit

The Xelsis SM7684 automatically rinses at startup and shutdown. Empty the drip tray and grounds container when prompted on the display. Always rinse promptly — overfull grounds containers cause errors.

Daily — HygieSteam Milk Cleaning

After each milk drink, the machine automatically sends a steam jet through the milk circuit for instant cleaning. At end of day, run a full HygieSteam clean cycle: remove the milk tube from the carafe, press the clean button, and the machine steam-cleans from spout to tube. Rinse the milk carafe separately.

AquaClean Filter

Install an AquaClean filter in the water tank when prompted. The filter tracks usage via the machine's counter — with the filter installed you can brew up to 5,000 cups without descaling. Replace the filter approximately every 3 months or when the machine prompts you.

Descaling

If you are not using the AquaClean filter, descale when the machine prompts using Philips Saeco descaler tablets. With the filter, descaling may never be needed under normal use. Follow all on-screen instructions during descaling — the process takes approximately 30 minutes.

Brew Group

Remove and rinse the brew group under warm water weekly (for high-use machines) or monthly. The brew group slides out from the left side of the machine. Rinse only — do not use soap on the brew group. Reinstall when still damp.

Weak Espresso / No Crema

Grind is too coarse or dose is too low. Adjust the grinder one step finer (if the machine allows grind adjustment). Also check bean freshness — stale beans produce less crema.

Machine Not Brewing / Error

Check water tank level, bean supply, and grounds container. Ensure the brew group is properly installed. Most error messages are solved by checking these three items and restarting the machine.

Grounds Container Prompt Too Frequent

The grounds container counts pucks rather than measuring weight. If you're using very fine grounds or double shots, it fills faster. Empty when prompted — waiting causes overflow errors.

AquaClean Not Registering

Ensure the AquaClean filter is fully seated in the water tank and the machine has run a full rinse cycle after installation. The machine must detect the filter before it starts tracking.
