Fellow Stagg Pour Over Kettle

Fellow Stagg Pour Over Kettle

Functional form at its best, the Stagg Pour Over Kettle offers a bold take on the traditional and a sharp update for your kitchen arsenal. Starting with a sturdy 18/8 stainless steel, the Stagg's industrial-sourced design introduces an Erlenmeyer flask shape offset by a bottom-mounted goose-neck spout and a weighted grip with an integrated thumb rest. This focus on design gives you unbeatable control over water flow perfect for pour-over brewing. An integrated probe thermometer in the lid of the kettle makes sure you're at the right temp with a glance.

What's In The Box
Fellow Stagg pour-over stovetop kettle (1.0L / 34oz), Lid with integrated analog brew-range thermometer.

Setup & First Use

Before first use, rinse the inside of the kettle with warm water. Place on a gas or electric stovetop (not induction — the Stagg stovetop kettle is not induction compatible). Fill to a maximum of 1.0L / 34oz.

The lid has an integrated analog probe thermometer that drops into the water to read temperature in real time. The thermometer dial highlights the optimal brew temperature range (approximately 195–205°F / 90–96°C) in red — when the needle enters that zone, your water is ready to pour. No power or batteries required.

Counterbalanced handle: the weighted design shifts the center of mass back toward your grip, reducing wrist fatigue during the extended pouring required for multi-cup pour-over brewing. The gooseneck spout is bottom-mounted with a fluted tip for a low-flow, controlled, directional pour stream.

Tutorials & Training

Using the Thermometer

Fill the kettle and place on medium heat. Watch the thermometer needle as the water heats. When the needle enters the red zone, remove the kettle from the heat and let it rest off the burner for 20–30 seconds before pouring — this stops violent boiling and settles the water to a steady brewing temperature. The thermometer continues reading after leaving the heat, allowing you to monitor temperature drop between pours.

Controlling Pour Rate

The gooseneck spout produces a slow, thin, directional stream. Tilt the kettle gradually for a slower flow; tilt more aggressively for a faster flow. For pour-over methods, pour in slow circular motions 2–3cm above the coffee bed. The counterbalanced handle makes sustaining a slow, controlled tilt easier than most standard kettles.

Capacity Planning

The Stagg stovetop holds 1.0L (34oz), which is enough for a full 6-cup Chemex or multiple V60 brews in one fill. For single-cup V60 brewing (200–300ml), you can fill a smaller amount — the thermometer reads accurately regardless of fill level.

Gas vs. Electric Stovetop

The Stagg stovetop kettle works on both gas and electric coil/flat-top ranges. Do not use on induction cooktops — the stainless steel body is not induction-compatible. Do not place on a hot gas burner when empty.

Cleaning & Maintenance

After Each Use

Empty any remaining water. Rinse the interior with warm water. Do not submerge the thermometer assembly in water — wipe the exterior of the lid with a damp cloth. Hand-wash only.

Descaling

If mineral deposits form inside the kettle, fill with equal parts water and white vinegar, heat briefly, let soak 30 minutes, then discard and rinse thoroughly. Run a full kettle of clean water before brewing after descaling.

Thermometer

The analog thermometer probe is sealed into the lid. Do not attempt to remove it. If the thermometer stops reading accurately, contact Fellow support.

Troubleshooting

Thermometer Not Readable

The thermometer reads accurately when the kettle is at least half full. Very small amounts of water may not reach the probe tip for an accurate reading.

Pour Too Fast / Hard to Control

The Stagg stovetop's flow rate is slower than standard kettles by design. If flow is too fast, try a lighter tilt angle. If the spout is dripping rather than streaming, the kettle may be tilted too little.
