Setting Temperature
Press and rotate the front dial to scroll to your desired temperature. Common brewing temperatures: pour-over and V60 — 195–205°F (90–96°C); lighter roasts benefit from the higher end, darker roasts from the lower end. AeroPress — 175–185°F (79–85°C). Tea — varies by type: green 160–175°F, black 195–205°F, herbal 205–212°F.
Hold Mode
Hold mode keeps the water at your set temperature for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes after reaching temp. Access hold mode settings through the menu. This is useful for long pour-over sessions, tea service, or when you fill the kettle ahead of your brew time.
Auto-On Scheduling
Set the kettle to heat to a specific temperature at a specific time each morning using the scheduling feature. Set the clock first (hold dial and navigate), then set the schedule time and temperature through the menu. The kettle will automatically begin heating at the scheduled time.
Altitude Mode
At higher altitudes, water boils below 212°F. The altitude mode prevents the kettle from over-boiling by adjusting the maximum temperature setting to match your elevation. Access through the menu and enter your altitude in feet or meters.
WiFi and Firmware Updates
The Stagg EKG Pro has WiFi connectivity for firmware updates via the Fellow Updater app. Note: the app does not provide remote control or temperature adjustment — it is used only for downloading firmware updates. Connect to WiFi through the menu settings.
Precision Pouring
The counterbalanced handle shifts the center of mass toward your hand, reducing wrist fatigue during long pours. The low-flow gooseneck spout delivers a slow, controlled, directional stream — essential for even saturation in pour-over methods. Pour at a slow, steady pace in circular motions from a low height (2–3cm above the bed) for best results.
