Autopilot Mode — xPods
xPods contain roasted-to-order whole beans and an embedded electronic recipe card with the roaster's exact brew specifications. To brew: tap the xPod's recipe card near the machine to scan it, pour the whole beans into the grinder dose chamber using the Magnetic Dosing Cup as a funnel, place the empty xPod into the xPod Dock as your dripper, and press start. The machine identifies the recipe, grinds the beans to spec, and executes the pour automatically — no settings needed.
Copilot Mode — Your Own Beans
In Copilot mode, select a saved recipe in the xBloom App or create your own. Set grind size, dose, brew ratio, water temperature (adjustable), bloom time and volume, pour speed, and pour pattern (straight, spiral, or circular). Pour your whole beans into the dose chamber using the Magnetic Dosing Cup. Install the Omni Dripper 2 with a paper filter. Press start on the machine or in the app. The machine grinds to your set grind size and executes the recipe automatically.
Freesolo Mode — Full Manual Control
Freesolo gives you real-time control — adjust temperature, pour volume, pour speed, and pour pattern live from the app while the machine is brewing. Use this mode for dialing in a new bean or recreating a specific manual pour over technique. The real-time brew graph in the app shows flow rate and cumulative volume as you brew.
Grind Size Adjustment
Adjust grind size in the app (Copilot mode) or use the Quick Grind Size Chart included in the box as a starting reference. The built-in single-dose conical burr grinder is calibrated for pour over — start at the medium setting for medium-roast coffee and adjust based on brew time and taste.
Standalone Grinder and Scale
The grinder can be used independently for other brew methods (French press, AeroPress, etc.) — grind directly into the Magnetic Dosing Cup. The drip tray scale can also be used independently for weighing doses. Both functions are accessible from Freesolo mode in the app.
Pour Patterns
The kinematic spout moves to execute circular, spiral, or straight pour patterns. Circular and spiral patterns ensure even saturation of the entire coffee bed, which is the most important factor for even extraction in pour over. Straight-down pouring concentrates extraction in the center. Circular is the best starting pattern for most recipes.
